Biography
Prep: Trained and competed at Gymnastics Plus in Merrillville, Ind. prior to coming to NIU. A USAG Level 10 gymnast in 2009 and 2010. At the Region 5 Championships, posted a 9.175 on vault to finish 15th and took 12th place on bars. Scored a 9.425 on vault at the IGI Chicago Style Meet and won the event at the Circle of Stars with a 9.325. Also had personal bests at Level 10 of 9.075 on bars and 9.025 on balance beam. Personal: Daughter of James and Tracy Hernandez. Born April 6, 1992 in Hammond, Ill. Plans to major in physical therapy. Earned a 3.5 GPA in her first semester and was named a Huskie Scholar.
