Trang Huynh enters her first season as a graduate assistant with the Northern Illinois University women’s tennis team. Huynh comes to NIU after graduating from Washington State in December.
A native of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Huynh was a student assistant for the Cougars in the fall as she finished her degree in psychology. Playing primarily at No. 4 singles last season for WSU she posted a 30-15 overall record and a 17-8 mark in duals.
Huynh went to Washington State via Troy University where she played two seasons for the Trojans. A two-time first-team All-Sun Belt selection, Huynh posted a 37-14 record during her Troy career. She went 19-10 in singles play in 2014-15, including 12-4 at the No. 1 position en route to Sun Belt Player of the Year honors.
In her home country of Vietnam, Huynh was a bronze medalist in the south East Asian Games in single, doubles and mixed doubles and was a member of the Vietnam Federation Cup team.
