Maureen Johnson

Maureen Johnson began her first season with the NIU volleyball program in the fall of 2016 as the program’s Director of Operations. In her role, Johnson helps organize the team’s travel and meals.

After graduating from Ashland University, Johnson entered the private sector where she worked for a year before deciding to return to volleyball. Along with her administrative duties, she is currently working towards her master’s degree in sports management at Northern Illinois University.

Johnson lettered four years for the Eagles, where she twice competed in the NCAA Division II Tournament and recorded season-best performances as a sophomore (10 blocks) and as a junior (.529 attacking percentage).

A native of Crystal Lake, Ill., Johnson majored in athletic training at Ashland. Her sister, Erin, played volleyball at Illinois and currently plays for Dredner Sportclub 1898 in Dresden, Germany.
