Biography

2021-22: Saw 18-straight victories before his first loss on Dec. 30... Started 13 duals for the Huskies at 184... Represented NIU at the NCAAs where he won one bout versus G. Harvey (Pittsburgh) via major decision 17-3... 2022 MAC Champion at 184 pounds...  He is the second three-time MAC champion in NIU wrestling history... MAC Wrester of the Week (Nov. 10 and Nov. 24)... Preseason All-MAC First Team.

2021: Qualifier for the 2021 National Tournament...Finished the season with an overall record of 17-4, 8-1, in dual matches... Repeated as MAC Champion at 184 pounds in the 2021 Tournament after winning the year before...Earned All-America honors...Placed sixth in the 2021 NCAA Tournament winning four out of his seven matches in the tournament...Named to the Academic All-MAC Team and also earned National Wrestling Coaches Association Division I Scholar All-America honors while also earning all-league honors.

2019-20: A 2020 NCAA national qualifier, however, did not compete as the 2020 NCAA National Championships were cancelled due to COVID-19 (coronavirus)…2020 MAC champion at 184…First-team All-MAC honoree…Defeated Missouri’s Dylan Wisman 8-5 in the championship match (Mar. 8)...Tallied a 22-3 season record, including a 7-2 mark in MAC competition moving up to 184 this season...Posted a season-best seven match winning streak from Nov. 15-Jan. 17…Ended the season winning 16 of last 17 bouts…Took third place at the Michigan State Open (Nov. 2), going 5-1 on the day defeating four Big Ten foes.

2018-19: Qualified for the 2019 NCAA Championships at 174 pounds after finishing with a 25-7 overall record, including a 15-2 dual match mark…Both loses at the NCAA Tournament came against top 30 wrestlers… Earned Second Team All-MAC honors finishing second at 174 at the MAC Championships… Placed second at Michigan State Open and third at Midlands Championships…Recorded six major decision wins and six fall wins…Has a 48- 11 career record.

2017-18: Finished the season 23-4, unattached, at 174-pounds … Recorded the most wins on the team with 23,  the most pins with 10, the most major decision victories with five ... Won four of seven tournaments competed in, Harold Nichols Cyclone Open (Nov. 4), the Eastern Michigan Open (Nov. 11), the Jim Koch Open (Dec. 2), and the Harper Open (Jan. 27) … Went 4-1 on his run to a second place finish at the Lindenwood Open (Nov. 18) … Placed second at the Pat ‘Flash’ Flanagan Open (Jan. 6) … Got hand raised once at the Midlands Championships (Dec. 29).  

High School: Recorded the most school wins in Mexico High School history… Awarded varsity letters four years… Honored as a two-time all-North Central Missouri Conference first team junior and senior year and awarded second team freshman and sophomore year… Received All-District first team junior and senior year and All-District second team freshman and sophomore year… Class two A Wrestler of the Year senior year… Won second in the Missouri State Wrestling Tournament senior year… Posted a 178-8 career record at Mexico High School… Top five in state all four years.
