Mayya Gorbunova joined the Huskies as a graduate assistant coach in June 2026. Originally from Moscow, Russia, Gorbunova played at East Tennessee State University and Sacramento State playing at No. 1 position at both schools. Helped Sacramento State win Big Sky Conference regular season and tournament championships while earning all-conference honors.

Gorbunova has experience in coaching at the Moscow Tennis Academy and is pursuing a Master's in Communications while at NIU.
