MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Sean Hoorelbeke's three-run home run was part of a six-run eighth inning that propelled Central Michigan to a 7-2 victory over Northern Illinois Friday afternoon at Theunissen Stadium. The Huskies dropped their third straight game and are now 20-14, 9-4 in the MAC while the Chippewas improve to 23-13, 11-2.

The Huskies took advantage of two CMU errors to open the scoring in their first at bat. Bobby Stevens drew a walk to lead off the game and advanced to third on an error. Two batters later, Jesse Seykora reached on an error that scored Stevens to stake NIU to a 1-0 lead.

The Chippewas cut the deficit in half in the sixth when Tyler Stovall led off the inning with a single and eventually came around to score on a Noah Lankford infield hit that led to a throwing error to make it 2-1.

Two innings later, CMU took the lead on Hoorelbeke's homer and added insurance runs when Lankford scored on a throwing error and Dale Cornstubble doubled home two.
