Around The Horn With Scott Simon

May 21, 2007

First baseman Scott Simon enters the MAC Tournament four hits from becoming the conference's all-time hit king. The senior from Algonquin has rewritten the NIU record book during his career, setting school marks for hits, RBI, doubles, games played and at-bats. Simon has received numerous award during his collegiate career and was one of 30 national candidates for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award, presented to college baseball's top student-athlete. During the 2007 campaign, Simon leads the Huskies with 68 hits on the year and is hitting .447 with 21 hits in his last 12 games. After graduating earlier this month with a degree in Sociology, Simon continues to work toward attaining his pilot's license.
