KENNESAW, Ga. - After averaging 21 points and three rebounds per game in the Huskies' two contests against Maine and Western Illinois in the 100 Club Classic, freshman guard Mike DiNunno was named to the six-member all-tournament team, as voted on by a tournament committee following Maine's win over host Kennesaw State in Saturday's championship game.

In his college basketball debut against Maine Friday, DiNunno scored 23 points on 8-of-17 shooting, including four three-pointers. He also tallied two steals and dished out one assist in a game-high 39 minutes. DiNunno was 3-of-4 from the free throw line in NIU's 77-64 loss to the Black Bears.

In Saturday's 65-54 win over Western Illinois, DiNunno again paced the Huskies' offensive attack, scoring a team-high 19 points to go along with six rebounds, two assists and two steals. He was a perfect 5-for-5 from the charity stripe in 34 minutes.

The Huskies will open the 2008-09 home slate Tuesday, when NIU hosts Missouri Valley Conference foe Indiana State beginning at 7 p.m.
