POST-GAME NOTES
***Northern Illinois was shut out for the first time in 115 games, since a 24-0 loss to Iowa on Sept. 18, 1999.
***The Huskie defense held Navy to 262 yards on 55 carries, below their average of 295 yards. The Mids' one completion tied the Northern Illinois record for fewest completions in a game by an NIU opponent. The last team to complete only one pass versus the Huskies was Ohio on Nov. 14, 1998.
***Britt Davis caught two passes and has 145 catches for his career to rank fifth on the Huskies' all-time list.
***Jerry Kill records the most wins by a first-year Huskie head coach since Bill Mallory's 1980 team went 7-4 in his first season. He is only the third NIU head coach since 1969 to have his first year team finish with a record of .500 or better.
***NIU safety David Bryant recorded a career best 12 tackles versus the Midshipmen while Tim McCarthy's 12 stops were a season-best for the senior.
***Northern Illinois defensive end Larry English collected the 62nd tackle for loss of his NIU career.
***Running back Ricky Crider had a career high 55 yards on 13 carries versus Navy. Crider entered the 2008 season with just seven career rushes for 20 yards but has accumulated 208 yards on 43 carries on the year. Crider also had 134 all-purpose yards on the day with four kickoff returns for 79 yards.
