NIUHuskies.com gets to know Danny Reed in the seventh of eight weekly profiles on the 2008 Huskie baseball seniors.

Favorite Mathey-ism ... The hand motions he makes. Once he knows we are mocking him he does them even more.

Baseball hero growing up ... Kirby Puckett.

My baseball superstition ... If we win the day before I wear the same jersey the next day and if I do well the day before I wear the same socks on the same feet. I chew gum in my first at bat and if get a hit I keep it until I can't taste it anymore or if we give up a bunch of runs early it's gone. Never step on foul line. I have a lot of superstitions. That is just a few of them.

Favorite baseball movie ... Bull Durham.

Best baseball prank ... Putting a water cup on a players hat. You punch a little hole in the water cup and while the other person is at bat you put it on their hat and you place the cup facing down in the glove. When they are in a hurry to get on the field they don't notice the cup on their hat.

If I was not playing baseball, I'd be playing ... Football.

If I could have dinner with three people in history (living or dead) they would be ... President Bush, Babe Winkelman and Kirby Puckett.

My parents were right when they told me ... Be good, be careful, and don't get into trouble. Take chances.
