Final Stats
***Northern Illinois won its school-record 11th game of the season to finish with an 11-3 overall record.
***Northern Illinois improved to 3-3 in bowl games as a NCAA Division I FBS program. The Huskies won a bowl game for the first time since 2004 (the Silicon Valley Classic versus Troy) after dropping three consecutive bowl contests (2006 Poinsettia, 2008 Independence, 2010 International).
***Chandler Harnish scored two rushing touchdowns in a game for the first time this season and for the third time in his career, tying his career high. The last time Harnish scored two rushing TDs in a game was last year (2009) at Toledo. He has a career-best seven rushing TDs on the year and now has 13 rushing touchdowns in his NIU career.
***Northern Illinois scored four rushing touchdowns to set a new school record for team rushing scores in a season with 42 (Harnish scored two TDs and Spann scored two).
***Michael Cklamovski's 51-yard field goal set a Northern Illinois bowl record for longest field goal and set the Humanitarian Bowl record for longest field goal. He broke the record of 42 yards set by Vince Scott in the 1983 California Bowl vs. Cal State Fullerton.
***Jake Coffman's three quarterback sacks in a single game is a career best and gives the 26-year old Marine Corps veteran 9.5 sacks on the season and 20 for his career. Coffman has seven sacks in the Huskies' last four games. His 9.5 sacks this year are the sixth-most in a year in school history while his 20 total sacks rank fourth at NIU all-time.
***With 23 points in the first half, NIU scored more points than they did in their last three bowl games (2010 International - 3, 2008 Independence - 10, 2006 Poinsettia - 7) combined. NIU's point total is its highest since the 2004 Silicon Valley Classic victory over Troy (34-21).
***Mike Cklamovski's 51-yard field goal was a career long for the NIU law student and the longest by a Huskie kicker since Mike Salerno tied the school record with a 52-yard three-pointer vs. Bowling Green on Oct. 25, 2008. He set the NIU bowl record for longest field goal and tied the bowl mark for most field goals in a game.
***Chandler Harnish established a new Northern Illinois record for most passing yards by a Northern Illinois quarterback in a bowl game with 300, breaking the mark of 186 he set versus Louisiana Tech in 2008. The 300-yard game was the third of Harnish's career.
