NIU Football 2014: Postgame Notes

*** Drew Hare became the third Huskie back to rush for 100 yards this season as he finished the game with a career-high 180 yards on 17 carries. His 180-yards were the most by an NIU back in a game this year. He reached the 100-yard mark in the first quarter on a 43-yard touchdown run.

***NIU's 658 yards of total offense is the Huskies' highest output this season. It was the third time this season the Huskies had 600-or-more yards in a game, last doing so at UNLV September 13.

***Hare recorded the first 100-yard rushing day of his career. Later in the game, Hare made his first career reception, grabbing an 18-yard pass from receiver Aregeros Turner.

***Hare had his top passing day in terms of completion percentage, hitting 12-of-16 (.750) passes for 185 yards and a touchdown.

***Da'Ron Brown caught his fifth touchdown pass of the season and the 18th of his career to move up to tied for seventh on the Huskies' all-time chart for receiving TDs. Brown's touchdown came on a 61-yard pass from Drew Hare as the senior recorded the longest catch of his NIU career.

***With four catches for 128-yards today, Da'Ron Brown moved onto the Huskie charts for career receiving yards. He now has 1,857 career receiving yards which ranks 10th at NIU.

***Aregeros Turner scored his first career rushing touchdown, on a one-yard run. The TD came two plays after his first career pass completion as he hit Drew Hare on an 18-yard completion to the one-yard line.

***Da'Ron Brown posted his third 100-yard receiving day of the season, and the fourth of his career, with four catches for 128 yards Saturday. Brown had his first 100-yard day since the UNLV game.

***Joel Bouagnon contributed to the Huskies' rushing attack with a 49-yard pick-up in the third quarter to record NIU's longest rush of the season.

***Huskie senior tailback Cameron Stingily also surpassed the 100-yard mark in rushing with a final total of 133, giving the Huskies two players with 100-or-more rushing yards in the same game for the first time this season and for the first time since the 2013 win over Toledo when Jordan Lynch (161) and Stingily (146) each went over the 100-yard mark.

***NIU recorded a season-high 433-yards on 55 carries (7.9 YPC), surpassing its previous-best of 424-yards versus Presbyterian in the Huskies' season opener August 28. Six different Huskies contributed to the total yardage with five of them recording touchdowns.

***The Huskies scored 51 points on the Redhawks tonight, marking the first time since the season-opener versus Presbyterian that NIU scored 50-or-more points in a game.

*** The NIU defense had six players with five-or-more tackles, including Rasheen Lemon and Brandon Mayes who led the Huskies with six in the game.

***The Huskies 51-41 victory evened the all-time series, which dates back to 1970, 8-8.

***NIU won at Huskie Stadium for the 29th time in its last 30 games. NIU saw its 28-game winning streak at home broken a week ago. The Huskies play just once more at home this season.
