NIU Postgame Notes

***NIU won its sixth game of the season to earn bowl eligibility for the seventh straight season, extending its Mid-American Conference record.

***The Huskies defeated Eastern Michigan for the seventh year in a row and won in Ypsilanti for the seventh straight time (dating back to 2000). The Huskies have won 13 of the last 14 games in the series.

***After seeing its 17-game winning streak in road games broken the last time it played on the road (Sept. 20 at Arkansas), the Huskies won for the 18th time in its last 19 road games.

***NIU won its 12th straight Mid-American Conference road game, dating back to Oct. 1, 2011, when the Huskies fell at Central Michigan (48-41). The Huskies won their last three MAC road games that year and were undefeated on the road in the MAC in 2012 and 2013.

*** Drew Hare's 78-yard touchdown run in the first quarter was the longest by a Huskie player since Jordan Lynch ran for an 88-yard score versus Army on Sept. 15, 2012. It tied as the 17th-longest rush ever for NIU.

***Drew Hare ran for 166 yards on 13 carries for his second consecutive 100-yard rushing game and the fifth by a Huskie back this season. Hare averaged 12.8 yards per carry.

***NIU passed for 54 yards on 10-of-17 completions for its lowest passing yardage total of the seasons, and its lowest since last year versus Western Michigan. In that game, the Huskies totaled 39 passing yards, completing five-of-17 attempts.

***Dechane Durante recorded his first interception of the season, and the fifth by NIU this season. The senior recorded his eighth career INT, but his first since the 2013 game at Purdue.

***NIU has now won 39 of its last 40 games when holding its opponents to 24 points or less.

***Seven players had a hand in four sacks for the Huskies Saturday. NIU sack leader Jason Meehan recorded his sixth sack of the season, nearly equaling his season total for all of last season. Meehan's sack was the 13th of his career.

***The Huskies did not turn the ball over for the third time this season, and for the first time since the Northwestern game (Sept. 13).

***NIU tied its season high with eight tackles for loss Saturday. The Huskies also had eight TFLs versus both Kent State and Presbyterian.

***Tyler Wedel punted three times for a 46.3 yard average with two punts of 50 or more yards.
