NIU Postgame Notes
***Juwan Brescacin caught his first touchdown pass of the season to put NIU on the scoreboard in the first quarter.
***Shane Wimann caught his fourth touchdown pass of the season to give NIU a 14-0 lead. At that point, Wimann took the team lead in touchdown receptions on the season. Wimann added his first career carry in the third quarter.
***Kenny Golladay tied Wimann for the team lead in touchdown catches when he scored on an 18-yard grab in the second quarter. Golladay recorded his fourth TD catch of the season, and his fifth total touchdown, and finished the day with six catches for 71 yards.
***Joel Bouagnon scored his 14th rushing touchdown of the season in the second quarter and has scored at least one rushing touchdown in seven of NIU’s eight games this season and in five consecutive games.
***Jordan Huff’s 53-yard touchdown run was the longest run of his career. He scored his fifth rushing touchdown of the season, second on the team behind Joel Bouagnon.
***NIU shut out a team in a half for the first time since Nov. 28, 2014 when NIU held Western Michigan scoreless for the entire second half.
***Joel Bouagnon went over the 100-yard mark in rushing for the fourth consecutive game and for the fifth time this season. He finished the game with 136 yards on 26 carries and a touchdown.
***Jordan Huff had his best game as a Huskie with 13 carries for 128 yards with a touchdown versus Eastern Michigan today. Huff recorded his first career 100-yard rushing game.
***NIU had two players go over the 100-yard mark in rushing yards in the same game for the first time this season and the 24th time in school history. The last pair of Huskies to record 100 rushing yards in the same game was Drew Hare (180 yards) and Cameron Stingily (134) versus Miami on Oct. 18, 2014.
***NIU linebacker Juwuan Johnson recorded his first career interception, and the Huskies’ 12th of the season, in the fourth quarter to stop an EMU drive.
***NIU cornerback Shawun Lurry saw his streak of five consecutive games with an interception come to an end.
***Freshman D.J. Brown scored his first career touchdown on a six-yard run in the fourth quarter.
***Tommylee Lewis led NIU in receiving with seven catches for 80 yards and a touchdown. It was the most catches in a game for Lewis since the 2013 contest versus Ball State. The redshirt senior missed all but two games of the 2014 campaign due to a foot injury.
