Jenna Radtke Earns Third-Straight MAC West Player of The Week Honor

The senior picked up her second offensive accolade of 2016 after two-straight defensive honors

CLEVELAND - For the third consecutive week, senior Jenna Radtke (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Stevenson) garnered accolades from the Mid-American Conference as she was named MAC West Offensive Player of the Week Monday. The honor is her second offensive award of the season and her fourth award of 2016.

While her defense remained stellar, Radtke's offense led the Huskies versus Buffalo and Akron last weekend, averaging 4.00 kills and 4.81 points per set while hitting .474. Defensively, she recorded 1.12 blocks per set.

In the weekend opener against the Bulls, Radtke hit .526 while posting 12 kills, two service aces and two block assists to aid in NIU's three-set triumph. The senior followed up with a 20-kill night versus the Zips to set a new career-high with the effort. Radtke also hit .447 on the night with seven block assists in the match.

Radtke's feats on Saturday night proved pivotal for Northern Illinois University as it rallied back from a 2-1 deficit to win in five sets, 3-2. NIU has now won its last 11 matches, tied for the sixth-longest winning streak in program history, which includes a perfect 8-0 clip in the MAC.

The Huskies will hit the road for six of their final eight matches of Mid-American Conference play, starting with a pair of contests at Ohio and Kent State. Friday's match against the Bobcats will be a rematch of the 2015 MAC Tournament Championship.
