DeKALB, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics invites all local high school athletic directors and guidance counselors to attend the third Northern Illinois High School Athletic Directors' and Guidance Counselor Resource Seminar at NIU on Wednesday, November 16 from 6:30-8 p.m.
The free event, hosted by NIU Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance
Kiera Miller, will provide information to high school personnel so that they can assist student-athletes during the recruiting and eligibility certification process.
After a meet and greet session with NIU admissions representatives while refreshments are served prior to the seminar, athletic directors and counselors will be provided with an overview of new
NCAA rules and regulations that will affect high school student-athletes as they begin to explore participation in intercollegiate athletics.
The NIU High School Athletic Directors' Resource Seminar will be held in the Jeffrey and Kimberly Yordon Center on the NIU campus, located on the north end of Huskie Stadium. Following the educational session, all guests are invited to attend the NIU men's basketball game versus Idaho beginning at 8 p.m. in the NIU Convocation Center. Two (2) complimentary tickets will be provided.
