IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Northern Illinois University women's tennis team fell at Iowa, 7-0, at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex Saturday.

"This was a tough loss for the team," said NIU head coach
Tanya Mahefu. "Again, I felt we had opportunities to change the course of the match. I believe we will learn from this experience moving forward."

Adey Osabuohien (Hazel Crest, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) and
Raven Neely (Grosse Point, Mich./Grosse Point South) remained undefeated at No. 1 doubles. The Huskie duo posted a 5-4 win over Elsie Van Heuvelen and Zoe Douglas. However, it was NIU's only victory on the afternoon.

Senior
Pauline Chawafambira (Dangamvura, Mutare, Zimbabwe) and Neely battled at No. 2 and 3 singles. Chawafambira fell to Douglas, 6-3, 8-6, while Neely pushed Anastasia Reimchen to three sets. Neely dropped the first set, 7-5, but rallied in the second set, winning, 6-4. However, Reimchen won the third set, 10-3.

The NIU women's tennis team returns to action Friday for a pair of dual matches. The Huskies will face Chicago State at 9 a.m. and Green Bay at 1 p.m. in Aurora, Ill.
