NIU to Host Alumni Day Activities on Saturday
The NIU men's basketball program will hold its annual Alumni Day festivities on Saturday in conjunction with the game against Eastern Michigan. Over three dozen Huskie basketball alums are expected to be in attendance, featuring many fan favorites from throughout the years such as Kenny Battle, Jay Bryant, Matt Hicks, Allen Rayhorn and Donald Whiteside. NIU will also honor the legacy of the winningest coach in program history, John McDougal, in a halftime ceremony. 

Huskie Quick Hits
• Aaric Armstead currently has 139 career steals, third all-time in school history. Armstead also has 1,115 career points, currently ranked 20th in school history in scoring, 19 points behind Jim Bradley (1971-73) for 19th all-time.   
• Laytwan Porter leads the MAC in three-point field goal percentage, shooting 46.9 percent (23-of-49) from beyond the arc. 
• One of the elite big men in the MAC, Marin Maric is one of just three players to rank in the top-20 in the league in scoring as well as the top-10 in rebounding and field goal percentage.
• Over the last four games, NIU is shooting 47.8 percent (107-of-224) from the field, including 45.3 percent (24-of-53) from three-point range. During that stretch, seven players are shooting over 45 percent from the field.
• NIU ranks 29th nationally in turnovers forced (15.9 per game). The Huskies also rank 40th in offensive rebounds per game (12.7) and 42nd in total rebounds per game (39.0). 
• Eugene German ranks third in the MAC in points per 40 minutes among freshman (19.4), behind Miami's Michael Weathers (24.7) and Akron's Daniel Utomi (23.2)
• NIU has 63 wins over the last four seasons going back to the beginning of the 2013-14 campaign, the best four-year stretch for the Huskies since winning 64 between 1992-93 and 1995-96. 
• The Huskies are the third-least experienced team in the MAC according to KenPom (1.39 years of experience per minute played). That mark is 282nd in the country. Western Michigan is 292nd at 1.31 and Miami is 323rd at 1.12. 

About Eastern Michigan
• The Eagles are 13-9, 5-4 in Mid-American Conference play after suffering a 70-64 home setback against Kent State on Tuesday night (Jan. 31). 
• Five players are scoring in double figures for Eastern Michigan, led by 15.8 points per game from Willie Mangum IV. James Thompson IV averages a double-double with 14.6 points and 11.0 rebounds per game; Ray Lee (14.2 ppg), Tim Bond (10.3 ppg) and Ty Toney (10.2 ppg) also score in double figures. 
• Eastern Michigan leads the MAC in field goal percentage defense, holding its opponents to just 40.7 percent shooting, the Eagles also lead the MAC in blocks (5.0 per game) and steals (10.8 per game).  

All-time Series with the Eagles
• NIU leads the all-time series with Eastern Michigan, 52-39, and the Huskies hold a 31-12 advantage all-time in DeKalb. 
• Last season, the Huskies and Eagles split their two meetings, with both teams winning at home. NIU claimed an 80-63 victory in DeKalb (Jan. 9, 2016) while Eastern Michigan earned a 75-71 win in Ypsilanti (March 1, 2016). 
• Travon Baker scored a game-high 25 points and Marin Maric posted a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds in last season's meeting in DeKalb. 
• NIU and Eastern Michigan have met 13 times during head coach Mark Montgomery's tenure, making the Eagles the most frequent opponent of NIU during that time. NIU and Eastern Michigan met in the MAC Tournament in three consecutive seasons from 2012-14.
