DeKalb, Ill. – Northern Illinois University, in conjunction with the Mid-American Conference, ESPN and NCAA and NAIA institutions throughout the country, will celebrate the 150^th Anniversary of college football in 2019 with a multi-tiered promotional plan that will engage fans and alumni and celebrate the rich history of Huskie Football.
 
Beginning this week, throughout spring practices, the summer build-up to the 2019 NIU Football season, fall camp and the entire 2019 campaign, NIU will roll out a variety of efforts centering around the #CFB150 theme.  
 
The first element of the Huskies' CFB150 promotion will provide NIU fans the opportunity to vote for the "Huskie Football Fan Favorites" through the official social media platforms of NIU Athletics over the next several months. The first of these bracket-style votes will be introduced on Tuesday morning, March 26, at 10 a.m. when the Favorite Uniform bracket is unveiled. Fans can then vote on the first quarterfinal match-up on Twitter (@NIUAthletics), Instagram (niuhuskies) or Facebook (NIU Huskies) throughout the day on Tuesday.  The remaining quarterfinals will go through the rest of this week – one per day – setting up the semifinals and finals match-ups on Monday through Wednesday of next week.
 
On Twitter, "like" or "retweet" to select your favorite uniform.  On Instagram, vote via the poll through Instagram stories, and on Facebook, choose "like" or "love" to vote for which of the two uniforms that day is your favorite.
 
Additional Huskie Football Fan Favorites brackets, some including video clips, will be posted every few weeks with all going from a top eight to a final.  It's all for fun and nostalgia as NIU honors its part in college football history.
 
Other fan engagement pieces leading up to the season will included open-ended questions, asking fans to tell NIU their favorite moments or memories with Huskie Football.  In addition, NIU coaches and players – current and past – will be answering the same questions and sharing the answers on social media and even on the videoboard in the 2019 season.
 
The Huskies' #CFB150 celebration will continue over the summer and fall with various ticket promotions and once the season starts, there will be in-game trivia questions, video clips and more highlighting the Huskies' football history. 
 
Season tickets for all five 2019 home games, beginning August 31 when new NIU head coach Thomas Hammock makes his coaching debut versus Illinois State, are priced at as little as $55 each through the Huskie Family Pack, or $60 for individual East Side general admission tickets. The renewal deadline for returning season ticket members is April 26, 2019 and new season ticket members can make a deposit now to be there for every game of the Thomas Hammock era.
