DEKALB, Ill. – Northern Illinois University quarterback
Marcus Childers has been named to the 2019 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Watch List.
Childers, a native of Adairsville, Ga., led the Huskies to their fifth Mid-American Conference championship is school history last year when he led a second-half comeback over Buffalo. He earned Offensive Player of the Game honors after throwing for a career-high 300 yards and four touchdowns on 21-of-33 passing while rushing for 58 yards.
The Huskie junior finished the season with 2,175 yards passing and 531 yards rushing. He ranks 10th all-time at NIU in career passing yards (3,849), and his career average of 148.0 passing yards per game ranks sixth all time at NIU.
Childers is one of five MAC quarterbacks on the watch list and one of three Huskies on a preseason watch list heading into the season opener against Illinois State Aug. 31. Linebacker
Antonio Jones-Davis was tabbed to both the Chuck Bednarik Award and Bronco Nagurski Award Watch List, while
Tre Harbison was named to the Doak Walker Award Watch List.

The new Saturdays Special includes a ticket to all three Saturday home games as well as a voucher good for a hot dog, chips and a soda for each game for just $110.
