DeKALB, IL – Former Northern Illinois University baseball first baseman Jordan Larson (Dodgeville, Wis./College of DuPage) has signed a contract to play professional baseball with the Plattsburgh Thunderbirds of the Empire Baseball League.

"It's always great to see our players move on to the professional ranks," said head coach Mike Kunigonis. "We hope Jordan is the first of more signings to come this summer."

Larson played in 48 games this past season for the Huskies, starting 44 games at first base. He had six doubles, a home run and 16 runs batted in for the year. On May 7, Larson had a season-high three hits against Western Michigan that started a 10-game hitting streak.

In 119 career games, Larson hit .240 with a .313 on-base percentage. He earned a Mid-American Conference Co-Player of the Week award on Feb. 18, 2020 after hitting .583 in four games against Boston College to open that season. In the series finale against the Eagles, Larson was 4-for-4 with two doubles, a triple and two RBI in NIU's 12-3 win. He opened the 2020 season with a hit in each of the first 12 games.
