DEKALB, Ill. – Fans can get their first look at the Northern Illinois University men's and women's basketball teams on Sunday, October 10, when the Huskies host an open practice at the NIU Convocation Center. 

Doors for the open practice will open at 11:30 a.m., and fans are asked to enter through Entrance 5 of the NIU Convocation Center, located on the north side of the building, and park in lot C3 or C4 near Entrance 5. Masks are required for all fans inside the NIU Convocation Center. 

The NIU women's basketball team will begin its one-hour workout at 12 p.m., with the Huskie men's basketball team signing autographs during that time. Following the conclusion of the first scrimmage, Huskie women's basketball head coach Lisa Carlsen and first-year NIU men's basketball head coach Rashon Burno will introduce their teams.

At approximately 1:20 p.m., the Huskie men's basketball team will begin its one-hour workout during which time the NIU women's basketball team will be signing autographs. 

NIU's clear/small bag policy will be in effect for the open practice, meaning no large bags or purses will be permitted. Approved bags include one clear plastic 12" x 12" x 6" stadium bag OR a one (1) gallon clear plastic storage bag OR one (1) clutch purse size 4.5" x 6.5" or smaller.

Members of the Huskie Athletic Fund staff will also be in attendance for fans interested in premium seating options for the 2021-22 basketball season, including courtside seats, Nelson Club and suites.
