DeKALB, IL – The Northern Illinois University women's basketball team looks to continue its strong play at the NIU Convocation Center on Saturday when it hosts the Western Michigan Broncos Saturday at 1 p.m. for "Cram The Convo". It is the first game of a doubleheader with the NIU men's basketball team hosting Miami at 3:30 p.m.
Saturday's "Cram the Convo" will feature a Kids' Zone as well as a Huskie Pride pennant giveaway for both games. The NIU Mid-American Conference champion men's soccer and football teams will make appearances as well. Use the promo code "CRAM" at the following

NIU (10-13, 7-8 MAC) won the first meeting against the Broncos 61-47 in Kalamazoo, Mich. on Jan. 31. The Huskies erased an eight-point halftime deficit with a 26-9 third quarter. NIU shot 66.7 percent from the field in the second half to come away with the win.
A'Jah Davis (DeKalb, Ill./Montverde Academy [Fla.]) led all players with 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Paulina Castro (Elgin, Ill./Harvest Christian) was 5-for-5 from the three-point line for 15 points.
Janae Poisson (Matteson, Ill./Marian Catholic) had 12 points and a game-high six assists.
Davis set an NIU women's basketball single-season record last Wednesday night with her 18
th double-double of the year. The junior forward led all players with 17 points and 12 rebounds at Kent State. Davis surpassed the previous mark of 17 double-doubles set by
Ally Lehman in the 2016-17 season. She is fourth in the country in double-doubles and third in rebounding at 12.0 rebounds per game. Davis has had a double-double in seven straight games.
The Huskies are 7-3 at the Convocation Center this season. NIU has won four of its last five home games after last Saturday's 69-64 overtime victory over Buffalo. The Huskies are averaging 70.3 points per game at the Convocation Center, shooting 41.7 percent from the field with a +5.7 rebound margin. Since the start of the 2018-19 season, NIU is 22-4 at the Convocation Center when scoring at least 70 points.
Western Michigan (14-9, 8-6 MAC) enters Saturday's game on the heels of a 72-64 win over Bowling Green Wednesday night. It was the Broncos' second straight win after three straight losses. Sophomore forward Taylor Williams led Western Michigan with 21 points and 11 rebounds in the win over the Falcons. Lauren Ross, the reigning Mid-American Conference Player of the Week, added 17 points. Ross is fifth in the MAC in scoring at 19.4 points per game.
