ST. LOUIS – The Northern Illinois University softball team concludes its Missouri road trip and the non-conference season tomorrow (March 14) when it takes on Lindenwood in a single game contest prior to Mid-American Conference play.

The Huskies will square off against the Lions with first pitch slated for 2 p.m. at the Lou Brock Complex.

Tuesday's game will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
LAST TIME OUT
The Huskies (9-10) finished the Saint Louis Opening Round-Robin this past weekend 3-1, beating Bradley twice and the hosts, Saint Louis, once. NIU opened play Saturday with a 4-3 win over the Braves before doubling down with a 3-1 triumph over the Billikens. On Sunday, junior first baseman
Caitlyn Shumaker's grand slam propelled the team to an 8-7 win over the Braves.
Freshman pitcher
Danielle Stewart had a team-low ERA of 1.56 in the circle. Stewart (3-5) fanned six batters (three in each game) while only allowing three extra bases hits in her pair of appearances.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Lindenwood (5-14) enters Tuesday on a four-game skid after falling at home to North Dakota once and Tennessee State three times. Last season, the Lions finished with a 35-13 overall mark and made an appearance in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional before joining the D-I ranks this year.
Lindenwood is led by Irelynn West at the dish; she's batting .350 and has racked up a team-high 21 hits. In the circle, Amanda Weyh has a team-high 40.1 innings pitched and a team-low ERA of 3.12.
LOOKING AHEAD
Following Tuesday, the Huskies will commence MACaction with their home-opener at 3 p.m. on Friday versus Akron (10-8) at Mary M. Bell Field. On Saturday, NIU and the Zips will play a doubleheader at 1/3 p.m. to conclude the weekend.
