Des Moines, Iowa – The Northern Illinois University men's tennis team lost to the Drake Bulldogs by a score of 6-1 in their second dual of the day Saturday night.

Sophomore Iker Gaztambide Arrastia (Pamplona, Spain) and freshman Sam Klein (Elm Grove, Wis/Brookfield East) won their doubles match 6-3 but the Huskies dropped the doubles point to the Bulldogs as Drake took the two remaining matches.

Arrastia also won his match over Drake's Matija Matic 6-1, 6-4 at No. 3 singles to get the Huskies' point in the dual.

The singles matches were extremely competitive as four of the six matches went to three sets. Drake was able to win all four of the three set matches to clinch victory over the Huskies. Senior Cheng En Tsai (Taipei, Taiwan/Abraham Baldwin) took his match at No. 1 to three sets but dropped the final set 7-5 in the tightest match of the night.

NIU will be back in action against North Dakota in the Nelson Tennis Center at Chick Evans Field House at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 26.
