Men's Golf | October 4
DeKALB, IL – Felix Krammer (Waakirchen, Germany/Arkansas State) of the Northern Illinois University men's golf team was named the Mid-American Conference Men's Golfer of the Week on Friday after helping lead the Huskies to the team title at Wisconsin's Badger Invitational.
Krammer got out to a fast start last Sunday, tying the NIU 18-hole scoring record with an eight-under par 64. The senior had eight birdies and no bogeys in his round to take the individual lead of the tournament. After an even-par 72 on Monday, Krammer's one-over 73 proved crucial as NIU posted the lowest team score of the final round to move from third place to first as the Huskies won their first tournament since the 2023 MAC Championship. He finished the tournament at -7 and tied for second, one of four Huskies to place in the top 15.
This is Krammer's second MAC Golfer of the Week honor in his career. He was named MAC Co-Golfer of the Week on Oct. 5, 2023 after tying for fourth at the Badger Invitational at five-under par.
NIU is next in action Oct. 13-14 at the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational hosted by Michigan State at Quail Valley Golf Club in Vero Beach, Fla.
