Thirty-One NIU Student-Athletes Named 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award Recipients

DeKALB, Ill.—Thirty-one Northern Illinois University athletes earned the 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award, as announced by 1A FAR in December 2024.
 
The 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award recognizes outstanding student-athletes for their significant accomplishments in the classroom while competing at the highest level of college sports.
 
The Award is given annually to student-athletes who graduate with a cumulative GPA of 3.80 or above and have participated in at least two years of NCAA Intercollegiate athletics at a Football Bowl Subdivision institution.
 
The 31 honorees from NIU are the most since 2020, when the Huskies saw 22 athletes receive the honor.
