Indianapolis, Ind. – The Northern Illinois University men's tennis team took down Indiana University Indianapolis by a score of 4-3 on Saturday as the Huskies claimed their first win of 2025.

Iker Gaztambide Arrastia (Pamplona, Spain) and
Saul Berdullas (Santiago de Compostela, Spain) said. "We fought really hard to get the victory. Proud of the effort everyone gave and the energy was unmatched once again. Let's keep pushing!"
The Huskies opened up the dual by claiming the doubles point. At No. 1 doubles Arrastia and
Federico Scotuzzi (Bergamo, Italy/North Alabama) took a 6-4 win.
Iker Dellien Velasco (Trinidad, Bolivia/UAB) and
Chiao Bo Suo Nan (Taiwan) clinches the point with a 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles.
At singles the Huskies claimed three wins to clinch the dual victory.
At No. 1 singles Arrastia took down Dominik Kozerski 6-2, 6-3. Berdullas defeated David Viste 6-3 in the first set and clinched the match in a tight 7-6 tiebreaker in the second set. Dellien Velasco clinched the Huskies dual win at No. 5 singles as he defeated Sahil Navda 6-3, 6-2
NIU returns to action at 6 p.m. next Saturday, Jan. 25 as the Huskies take on Eastern Illinois inside the Nelson Tennis Center. The Huskies will then host Judson at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 26.
