Men's Tennis | February 21

Chicago, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University men's tennis team dropped matches to DePaul and Belmont at the XS Tennis Village on Friday.

Match 1
NIU (6-5) took the doubles point against DePaul as Iker Gaztambide Arrastia (Pamplona, Spain) and Federico Scotuzzi (Bergamo, Italy/North Alabama) dominated their match winning 6-0. Saul Berdullas (Santiago de Compostela, Spain) and Sam Klein(Elm Grove, Wis./Brookfield East) clinched the point with a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles.
At No. 1 singles Arrastia won a come from behind three set match over Matteo Iaquinto 6-7(4), 6-3, 11-9. AT No. 2 singles Saul Berdullas won his first set 6-3 but fell in a very close three set match to Pablo Torres Almeida 6-3, 3-6, 4-6.

Match 2
In the Huskies second match against Belmont Pratyaksh (Delhi, India) earned a dominant two set win at No. 5 singles. Arrastia and Berdullas won sets at No. 1 and No. 2 singles but fell in close matches.
The Huskies are back in action on Saturday morning at 10:15 a.m. as they take on EKU.
