DeKALB, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University men's tennis team had four members selected to the Academic All Mid-American Conference team, the league announced today.
Iker Gaztambide Arrastia, Pratyaksh,
Chiao Bo Suo Nan and
Iker Dellien Velasco all represented NIU of the 26 selections.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.20 GPA and participate in at least 50 percent of matches. First-year students and first-year transfers are not eligible.
Gaztambide Arrastia earned his second honor with a 3.453 GPA in Industrial Management and Technology. The senior closed his career winning 37 matches this spring and winning MAC Player of the Year.
Pratyaksh, Suo Nan and Dellien Velasco each were named to the Academic All-MAC team for the first time. Pratyaksh had the highest GPA of the group with a 4.00 in Industrial and System Engineering.
The Huskies made their first MAC Championship appearance since 2019 and totaled 18 wins this season.
