Huskies Earn Wins at No. 1 and No. 2 Singles, Fall to UIC
 
DeKalb, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University men's tennis team fell in their Mid-American Conference opener to the University of Illinois at Chicago by a score of 5-2 inside the Nelson Tennis Center on Saturday.

Iker Gaztambide Arrastia (Santiago de Compostela, Spain) and Federico Scotuzzi (Bergamo, Italy) claimed the win at No. 1 doubles 6-2. UIC was able to take the other two matches to take the doubles point.

Arrastia then won yet again at No. 1 singles as he took the match in dominant fashion 6-3, 6-1.

At No. 2 singles Saul Berdullas (Pamplona, Spain) came from behind to win 3-6, 6-1, 6-2.

With UIC (10-2, 1-0 MAC) ahead 3-2 both Pratyaksh (Delhi, India) and Iker Dellien Velasco (Trinidad, Bolivia/UAB) both forced third sets to keep the dual going but were defeated in
the third set.

NIU (6-7, 0-1 MAC) will be back in action tomorrow at 12 p.m. as the Huskies host Chicago State inside the Nelson Tennis Center.
