Ryan Ludwig has announced three additions to the Huskies wrestling program for the 2025-26 season.
Robert Conway and Joshua Vazquez join the Huskies are true freshmen while Colin Young transferred to NIU after competing at Oklahoma State.
Conway, a native of Chicago, joins the Huskies after compiling a three-year record of 75-18 at Brother Rice High School. Conway was an Illinois State Champion during the 2022-23 season and took sixth this previous season.
Vazquez is set to join the Huskies after competing for Montini Catholic. The Aurora, Illinois native complied a record of 127-17 while being on the team that place at state in consecutive seasons. Vazquez is a three-time All-State, two-time state placer, and three-time Dvorak Finalist.
After competing for Oklahoma State during the 2024-25 season, Colin Young is set to join the Huskies this season. Young, a native of Belvidere, Illinois, posted a 5-2 record with the Cowboys. During his prep career, where he competed for Belvidere North and Dubuque Wahlert (Iowa), Young complied a record of 127-18. Young captured an Iowa State title at 165 pounds during his senior season.
With three more signees, Ludwig secures double-digit recruits for the second straight year, following eight announced on
May 30.
The 2024-25 Huskies wrestling program finished the season with a record of 7-3 and a MAC Champion at 125 pounds. Six Huskies earned Academic All-MAC honors while four received Scholar All-American honors from the NWCA.
