CHICAGO, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University men's tennis team made a quick trip to Chicago on Saturday, defeating Chicago State 6-1 for its second road win of the season. The Huskies are now winners of six of the last seven.
NIU notched the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2.

Chiao Bo Suo Nan clinched the point, 6-1.
In singles, Suo Nan (Taiwan / Taipei Municipal Jianguo) took a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6 to give NIU a 2-0 lead and was followed by Puntaric (Ljubljana, Slovenia / Tulsa) winning 6-2, 6-1, setting up the Huskies to close the door on the Cougars.
A 6-1, 6-2 win from Dellien Velasco (Trinidad, Bolivia / UAB) clinched the match for NIU. The Huskies final two winning of the afternoon came from Pratyaksh LNU (Delhi, India / Tagore International School), who won 6-2, 6-2, and
Lorenzo Leti Messina (Rome, Italy / North Florida), who posted a 6-3, 6-4 victory.
NIU returns home on Sunday for a 11 a.m. match against Grinnell College at the Nelson Tennis Center at Chick Evans Field House.
