DeKALB, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University men's tennis team continues its home stretch this weekend with a 11 a.m. match on Saturday against Roosevelt at the Nelson Tennis Center at Chick Evans Field House. Admission to the match is free.

NIU (2-1) dropped a 4-3 match to Xavier last Saturday. The Huskies won the doubles point thanks to a pair of 6-4 wins on courts two and three. Senior Iker Gaztambide Arrastia and sophomore Nikola Puntaric recorded wins for the Huskies in singles.

Roosevelt will open its season in DeKalb this weekend and are coming off a 4-14 dual season in 2025. The Lakers have a veteran heavy roster, led by seven upperclassmen. Saturday's match is the first meeting between the schools.

NIU closes its homestand off next weekend with three matches, beginning with Southern on Friday afternoon and a doubleheader against Omaha and Wisconsin-Whitewater on Sunday.
