DeKALB, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University men's tennis team swept Grinnell College at home on Sunday afternoon, winning 7-0. The Huskies are now 9-2 with conference play approaching.
"Hats off to Coach Hasenyager. Grinnell has a solid team, they competed really hard," said head coach René Vidal. "They have strong character and it was our pleasure to host them."
NIU won on all three courts in doubles.

Federico Scotuzzi battled for a 7-5 win at No. 3.
Moving to singles, Puntaric (Ljubljana, Slovenia / Tulsa) recorded his second win at No. 1 this weekend with a 6-1, 6-0 victory. Scotuzzi (Bergamo, Italy / North Alabama) took a 6-3, 6-2 win over Henry Park and Leti Messina (Rome, Italy / North Florida) clinched with a 6-4, 6-4 performance at No. 2.
"I think we did a good job on every court and finding a way to win," said Leti Messina said. "Some were tougher than others but at the end of the day, you have to have a game plan. We're focused on sticking with each other and cheering each other on."
Pratyaksh LNU (Delhi, India / Tagore International School) recorded a three-set win, downing Devansh Punjabi 6-3, 5-7, 10-3. Suo Nan (Taiwan / Taipei Municipal Jianguo) posted his second win of the weekend with a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 5.
Dellien Valsco (Trinidad, Bolivia / UAB) capped the day with a 6-2, 6-1 win to complete the sweep for the Huskies.
