DeKALB, Ill. – Iker Gaztambide Arrastia of the Northern Illinois University men's tennis team has been named the Mid-American Conference Singles Player of the Week, the league announced today.
Gaztambide Arrastia received his third MAC Singles Player of the Week this season following a 2-0 weekend at No. 1, including a upset victory over No. 23 Kenta Miyoshi of Illinois on Friday. The senior wrapped the weekend with a 6-3, 6-7, 6-0 clinching point at No. 1 over UIC.
The senior is now 10-1 in singles play this season and 8-2 in doubles.
NIU has received six Player of the Week honors this season, the most in a single season since 2019.
