Puntaric Named MAC Singles Player of the Week

DeKALB, Ill. – Nikola Puntaric of the Northern Illinois University men's tennis team has been named the Mid-American Singles Player of the Week, the league announced today.

Puntaric went 2-0 at No. 1 singles this weekend, claiming victories over Buffalo's Theodoris Mitsakos and Toledo's Hanamichi Carvajal. The sophomore has won 11 of his last 12 singles matches and is 16-2 this dual season.

It is the second time Puntaric has been named MAC Singles Player of the Week this season.

NIU has earned the MAC Singles Player of the Week five times this season, most by any team in the conference and most by NIU since at least 2005.
