DeKALB, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University men's tennis program and head coach René Vidal have announced the signing of Saúl Berdullas, Curzio Manucci and Constantin Radu for the upcoming season.

"It's an exciting day for Huskie Men's Tennis and the future of our program," said Vidal. "The signings of Saúl, Costi and Curzio solidify our lineup as a force to be reckoned with as we enter the Horizon League and continue making an impact on the national stage."

Berdullas returns to NIU after spending his first two seasons with the Huskies. The Spain native won Mid-American Conference Freshman of the Year in 2024 and combined for 18 wins in 2025. Berdullas spent the 2025-26 season with the University of Texas Arlington.

"Saúl has a deep appreciation for the Huskie brand and our commitment to developing leaders on and off the court. His professionalism, experience, and pursuit of excellence makes him an outstanding addition to our program," said Vidal.

Manucci tallied 20 wins for Coastal Carolina this spring, including a team-best 11 singles victories and 9-3 doubles record. Originally from Italy, Manucci has appeared in nearly 50 matches in the last two dual seasons.

"A tall lefty and relentless competitor, Curzio possesses the attributes necessary for high-level, consistent performance," said Vidal. "His work ethic and determination align perfectly with our Huskie championship standard."

Radu lands in DeKalb from the University of Texas at San Antonio, combining for 14 wins in his freshman season.

"Costi brings tremendous passion, intensity, and competitive fire to our team," said Vidal. "He arrives with a strong track record and even greater potential."

NIU was recently ranked the No. 8 team in the Midwest Region by ITA following an 18 win season and conference title appearance.
