NORMAN, Okla. – The Northern Illinois University men's golf team is a recipient of a 2025-26 PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Wednesday.
The Huskies were one of 88 NCAA Division I programs to earn Presidents Special Recognition for having a team grade point average of 3.5 or higher. NIU had a team GPA of 3.732 for the 2025-26 academic year.
This is the second time this week NIU Men's Golf has been recognized by the GCAA for it's achievement in the classroom.
Craig Long (Alpharetta, Ga./Milton),
Conner McCall (Vandalia, Ill./Vandalia),
Jack Mulligan (Burr Ridge, Ill./Hinsdale Central),
Beau Petersen (Gretna, Neb./Gretna) and
Patrick Raupp (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect) were named Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars on Monday. Those five student-athletes carry a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher and had a scoring average of 76.0 or better.
NIU led the Mid-American Conference this season with six Academic All-MAC selections, tying a program record set in 2018 and again in 2021. Long, McCall and Raupp were also named to College Sports Communicators Academic All-District At-Large Team on June 16. Raupp was the Huskies' top finisher at the 2026 MAC Championship, tying for fifth place as NIU made a charge in the final round to finish second. McCall led NIU with a 73.091 scoring average and had three top-10 finishes this season.
Long became the fourth NIU men's golfer in five years to win a tournament, carding a final round 65 to take first place at the Badger Invitational. He was also selected to the All-MAC Second Team.
