DeKALB, Ill. - With two meets under its belt, the Northern Illinois wrestling team travels to Las Vegas this weekend for Friday and Saturday competition at the Cliff Keen Invitational. The Huskies will be one of 49 teams from across the country competing at the 25th annual event.
NIU features four wrestlers who are nationally-ranked by Wrestling International Newsmagazine. Leading the quartet are Duke Burk (184) and Johnny Galloway (165), who are each ranked 11th in their respective weight classes. Burk earned his first collegiate title at the Kaufman/Brand Open in Omaha while Galloway finished first the week prior at the Pointer Open in Stevens Point, Wis.
Also ranked for the Huskies are Joe Cornejo and Pat Castillo. Cornejo is 15th at 149 pounds while Casillo is 19th at 125.
Several of the nation's top teams and wrestlers will be competing at this weekend's tournament including Missouri, Michigan, Indiana and Ohio State.
