Post-Game Notes

-Northern Illinois recorded its first sack of the 2006 season on the game's first play from scrimmage when Larry English took down Buffalo QB Drew Willy for a loss of six yards. In the game, NIU totaled four sacks on the night.

-Huskie kicker Chris Nendick claimed sole possession of the NIU record for consecutive games scoring with a first-quarter PAT. Nendick has scored in 27 consecutive contests, dating back to the first game of the 2004 season, breaking the record set by John Ivanic from 1987-90.

-Chris Nendick ran his consecutive PATs total to 100 in the game, ranking him second in MAC history.

-Chris Nendick moved up to eighth place on the NIU all-time scoring list. With seven points on Saturday, he passed Vince Scott (1980-83) and currently has scored 199 points during his NIU career.

-Garrett Wolfe passed the 100-yard mark with just over five minutes left in the first quarter to record his 17th career 100-yard rushing game. Wolfe has gained 100 or more yards in eight straight games he has played, dating back to the Sept. 24, 2005 contest at Akron.

-Garrett Wolfe moved into second place on the NIU career rushing chart, passing Mark Kellar, who had 3,745 yards from 1971-73. After gaining 263 yards on 24 carries Saturday, Wolfe has 3,916 yards on 572 carries. He trails only Michael Turner (2000-03) who totaled 4,941 yards on 940 carries for his career.

-For the season, Wolfe has 630 yards on 74 carries and is averaging 8.5 yards per carry and 210.0 yards per game.

-On his season-long 68-yard touchdown rush in the fourth quarter, Garrett Wolfe surpassed the 200-yard mark for the eighth time in his career. Wolfe has also run for at least 170 yards in each of his last six games, dating back to the Nov. 16, 2005 Toledo contest. He is averaging 225.7 rushing yards per game during that time.

-NIU totaled 344 yards on the ground in tonight's game, the team's highest rushing output of the season.

-Wolfe also passed Huskie receiver Justin McCareins (1987-2000) to move into third place on the NIU career all-purpose yardage chart. Wolfe has 4,550 career all-purpose yards and trails only Michael Turner (6,038) and Deon Mitchell (4,732) in that category.

-Wolfe's two TDs today give him 43 for his career as he continues to chase Michael Turner for the career touchdowns record. Turner had 48 scores from 2000-03. Wolfe also moved up to third on the career list for scoring. His 12 points Saturday give him 258 for his career, surpassing John Ivanic (1987-90) and trailing only Turner and Steve Azar (2000-03).

-With 6 catches for 91 yards vs. Buffalo, Marcus Perez topped his career high for receiving yards, set last week vs. Ohio when he had 87 yards on four catches.

-Montell Clanton posted career highs with 10 carries and 93 yards.

-NIU recorded its first blocked PAT since September 18, 2004 at Iowa State.

-On the Mid-American Conference career lists, Garrett Wolfe currently ranks: -Tied for 8th in career touchdowns (43) -10th in career rushing touchdowns (38) -13th in rushing (3,916) -15th in all-purpose yards (4,550)
