DeKALB, Ill. - The Huskies will open their MAC season with a duel meet against the University at Buffalo Bulls. Last year, the Huskies won the closely contested match over the Bulls by a final score of 23-21 in DeKalb. This year's meet looks to be just as competitive with both teams having multiple wrestlers ranked in the top four of the MAC's January wrestling rankings.

The marquee match-ups include Northern Illinois's second-ranked Chad Vandiver versus top-ranked Mark Bud of Buffalo in the 133 pound weight class for the MAC. Other top match-ups include NIU's top-ranked Mike Grimes fresh off his first place finish at the Midlands Invitational versus fourth ranked Ryan Needle of Buffalo in the 149-pound weight class. In the 165-pound weight class NIU's top-ranked Johnny Galloway will take on fourth ranked Mike Ragusa from UB.

The dual meet starts at 11:00am CST on Sunday, January 14th at the University at Buffalo's Alumni Hall.
