NIU Women's Basketball Signs Tenisha Wilson

Nov. 14, 2007

DeKALB, Ill. -Northern Illinois University head women's basketball coach Carol Owens announced the signing of Tenisha Wilson from Chicago Bogan Computer Technical High School to a National Letter of Intent.

"She's going to be a great addition to our program," Owens said. "She's someone that, in terms of the media and exposure, was under the radar because she didn't play AAU which was a great benefit for us. She's a great kid."

Last season, Wilson, a 5-8 guard, helped lead Bogan to a 22-10 record and its first supersectionals appearance in school history. She scored 13 points in the Bengals' 69-45, loss to Fenwick in the supersectionals. This season, Bogan is ranked 15th in the Chicago Sun Times Super 25. Last season she averaged 17.5 points a game and is Bogan's all-time leading scorer with 1,430 points and career rebound leader with 820.

"Bogan is getting great players into their program, but when Tenisha started, it was just her," she said. "She kind of carried the team a little bit. Now she doesn't have to do that. They have some balance and they should be a really good team this year.
