Huskies Finish Third At The Jack Shaw Invitational

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Northern Illinois University women's track and field team finished in third-place behind Western Michigan and Grand Valley State University. The Huskies junior sprinter Coretta Evans had a great afternoon, capturing the title in the 400-meter dash (56.64) and finishing fourth in the 200-meter dash (25.28).

Freshman Jessica Statler continued her success in the high jump, winning her second straight title (1.7m). Statler is undefeated in the event in the outdoor season.

Stacey Rosch provided big points for the Huskies as she won the 1,500-meter title with a time of 4:45.59. Rosch's winning time is a new personal record. Sophomore Shoshanna Brown took third-place in the triple jump (10.96m).

The Huskies' throwers continued their dominance, led by seniors Margaret Gorski and Ashley Morrow. Gorski finished second in the shot put (14.53m) while Morrow took third (13.91m). Morrow also finished third in the hammer throw (50.77) and fourth in the discus with a mark of (41.66m). Junior Jennene Anthony took second-place in the javelin throw with a mark of 36.44m.

The Huskies women's track and field team has a full weekend ahead of them. They will compete at the Drake Relays and Redbird Classic.
