Des Moines, Iowa - The Northern Illinois men's tennis squad brought some hardware back from Iowa, as the Huskies captured two titles at the Drake Invitational at the Drake Center on Sunday afternoon.

"It was good to see us win two out of the three flights," NIU head coach Pontus Hiort said. "We played well and I'm very pleased with the weekend."

The doubles tandem of Adam Ford (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Central) and Brian Livingston (Skokie, Ill./Niles North) won the doubles flight with a 9-7 triumph over Gustavus Adolphus' Mike Burdakin and John Kauss.

Junior Jimmy Chu (Lima, Peru/San Agustin) and sophomore Javier Bernabe (Segovia, Spain/IES Mariano Quintanilla) will vie for the B-Flight singles title at a later date after both earned semifinal victories. Chu defeated Gustavus Adolphus' Nick Hansen (6-2, 6-2), while Bernabe upended Drake's Ricardo Lau (4-6, 6-4, 6-2).

NIU will be back in action on Friday, October 5, as they are participating in the Marquette Invitational.
