Kalamazoo, Mich. - The Western Michigan men's tennis team earned its second-consecutive Mid-American Conference regular-season championship on Saturday afternoon with the 7-0 home victory over Northern Illinois at the Sorensen Courts.

"We made some very basic mistakes today," NIU head men's tennis coach Pontus Hiort said. "We just didn't perform well at all."

With the victory, Western Michigan improves to 18-7 overall and 5-0 in conference play, while the Huskies fall to 10-7 on the campaign and 2-3 in conference action.
