Brackets for 2015 NCAA Championships Revealed

March 11, 2015

INDIANAPOLIS - Northern Illinois University's Shawn Scott (Holly, Mich./Holly) found out his first round opponent Wednesday, as the brackets for the 2015 NCAA Championships were unveiled.

Scott's automatic qualification marks the 44th-straight year in which at least one Huskie has advanced to the national tournament. This year also marks the first appearance by Scott at the NCAA Championships.

A native of Holly, Michigan, Scott opens the tournament against eighth-seeded Max Huntley of Michigan, who is 21-8 on the year and took fifth at the Big Ten Championships. Scott and Huntley met once before this season, with Huntley taking a 7-4 decision over Scott at the Michigan State Open.

Regardless of that result, the Huskie redshirt sophomore will take on either #9 Jace Bennett of Cornell or Trent Noon of Northern Colorado. Bennett is 37-10 on the year and won the EIWA tournament title, while Noon maintains a 21-13 record following his second-place finish at the Western Wrestling Conference Championships.

The NCAA Championships start at 11 a.m. CT inside St. Louis' Scottrade Center with the opening rounds and continues through the title matches on Saturday, March 21. Once again, the ESPN family of networks will provide unprecedented coverage of the tournament with coverage on ESPN and ESPNU across all three days. In addition, ESPN3 will provide individual feeds for every mat, allowing fans to watch every match of the tournament - including wrestleback matches - with live commentary.
