"Loyola and us always have some good competitions," said NIU head
Christina Sutcliffe. "We're pretty evenly matched. We recruit the same kids, so it's a nice crosstown rivalry. We always try and take pride in our region and what we're doing against other teams in the state of Illinois. It's nice to play them at home. Hopefully we can come out on top."
Â
The Huskies enter Wednesday game winners of four of their last five, including a 2-1 series win over Akron last weekend, while Loyola has dropped six of its last seven. NIU will be looking for a little payback from last year as the Ramblers were the team to end the Huskies' 14-game winning streak, which, coincidently, began with a 10-6 victory over the Ramblers in the RDU Challenge.
Â
NIU holds a 29-19 record in the all-time series and has won three of the last five meetings.
