DEKALB, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University men's basketball team will begin a three-game homestand on Tuesday night, January 29, when the Huskies host Ohio at 5 p.m. Please note the game time change that was announced earlier today.

Despite a setback this past Saturday at Akron, NIU comes into Tuesday's contest tied with Toledo for first-place in the MAC West Division with an 11-9 overall record and a 4-3 mark in conference play.
Junior
Eugene German (Gary, Ind./21st Century Charter) scored 23 points at Akron to move into the top-10 in career scoring at NIU. German is the first Huskie to crack the all-time top-10 since Leon Rodgers (1998-2002), who finished his career in fifth with 1,657 career points. German is averaging 20.8 points per game, second in the MAC and 31st nationally, and has scored in double figures in 52 consecutive games.
Senior
Levi Bradley (Milwaukee, Wis./Pius XI) continues to be the only player in the MAC to rank in the top-15 in scoring (13th), field goal percentage (11th), three-point percentage (5th) and free-throw percentage (7th). In conference play, Bradley is 20-of-21 from the free-throw line to lead the league at 95.2 percent. For his career, Bradley is a 79.9 percent free throw shooter, which ranks sixth in school history.
Ohio has an 11-8 overall record, including a 3-4 mark in Mid-American Conference play. The Bobcats have won two-straight, defeating Western Michigan, 81-76, on Jan. 22, and Ball State, 78-74, on Jan. 26, both at home. The Bobcats have two players scoring in double figures, led by Jason Carter at 16.3 points per game. Teyvion Kirk adds 15.1 points per contest.
In the first meeting of the season in Athens, NIU rallied to earn a 72-66 overtime victory in the conference opener (Jan. 5). Senior
Lacey James (Grand Rapids, Mich./Rider) led the way with 20 points and 14 rebounds. That contest marked the first game for freshman
Trendon Hankerson (Novi, Mich./Novi) who scored nine points with four rebounds and three steals.
NIU will be home again on Saturday, February 2, as the Huskies host Toledo at 2 p.m., in the second game of a three-game homestand.
