DEKALB, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University women's basketball team wraps up the regular season on Saturday afternoon at Western Michigan. Tip-off at University Arena is at 1 p.m. with the game being broadcast on ESPN+.
NIU (17-12, 9-8 MAC) is coming off a 67-64 loss to Ball State Wednesday night at the Convocation Center. Senior guard
Mikayla Voigt (Slinger, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) led all scorers with 30 points and tied a career-high with five steals. Voigt made seven threes against the Cardinals to give her 93 for the season, the second-most in a single season in program history behind
Courtney Woods' (Brisbane, Australia/St. Margaret's) 105 in the 2016-17 season. In the last three games, Voigt has averaged 25.3 points and 3.3 steals per game while shooting 48.1 percent from the three-point line.

Ally May (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) posted her sixth double-double of the season Wednesday night with 15 points and a game-high 14 rebounds against Ball State. It was May's 13th double-digit rebound game this season. In the last six games, May is averaging 10.8 points and nine rebounds per game while shooting 57.4 percent from the field. May is third in the MAC in rebounding with 8.6 per game.
Western Michigan (10-18, 4-13 MAC) is 2-3 in its last five games since last facing the Huskies. The Broncos lost at Central Michigan on Wednesday night 88-57 after defeating Ball State at home on March 2 72-54. Jasmyn Walker led Western Michigan with 16 points Wednesday night. Deja Wimby had 15 points and four steals, while Leighah-Amori Wool added 14 points and a team-high seven rebounds. Wimby leads the Broncos with 13.8 points per game and is second on the team with 6.5 rebounds per game.
The Broncos lead the all-time series with NIU 38-25. The Huskies won this season's first meeting at the Convocation Center 77-64 on Feb. 18.
Errin Hodges (Pontiac, Ill./Evansville Central [Ind.]) led NIU with 17 points and 10 rebounds for her first career double-double. NIU outscored Western Michigan 23-9 in the second quarter to take a 45-26 halftime lead.
NIU is guaranteed to be the seventh-seed in the upcoming Mid-American Conference Tournament. The Huskies will host a first-round game at the Convocation Center on Monday, March 11 with the game time to be determined. More information will be available in the coming days.
